Finance Manager- Permanent Role
Telford
upto £30k per annum
Our client is seeking a Finance Manager to join their growing manufacturing business based in Telford.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, responsibilities for this autonomous role will include:
- Month end account closure, preparation of appropriate accruals/prepayments, preparation of Trial Balance, with reconciliation of sub-ledgers, in SAGE 200
- Daily routines, including management of credit control and supplier payments, seeking to optimise working capital levels and maximise cash holdings
- Bank reconciliation and cash flow forecasts
- Financial monitoring of project revenues/costs, working with external and internal sales personnel to identify and investigate variances.
- Work with Procurement/Production on accuracy of BOM’s and stock integrity
- Work with Managing Director and production personnel to improve production performance
- Work with the Managing Director and his direct reports on key issues to advance the business through continuous improvement in all areas
- Customer rebate calculations
- Compilation of information required for customer and internal sales meetings
- Annual statutory accounts pack preparation and assisting company auditors
- Progression from TB preparation through to production of full monthly management accounts in Excel, including variance analysis to annual budget and prior year comparatives
- Responsibility for VAT return and PAYE submissions
- Produce the Monthly payroll (SAGE 50 Payroll Pro) and take on responsibility for HR matters (with external support from Mentor)
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Candidates who are qualified by experience, however professional qualifications would be beneficial
- Good Excel skills and strong presentation skills in both Word and PowerPoint
- Ideally some experience of both Sage 200 (or similar) and Sage Payroll
- Experience of a small manufacturing company culture is advantageous
- Full clean driving license
- Be a good all-rounder who is hands on and understands the ‘ nuts and bolts’ of the finance role in business and who gets the job done and meets deadlines
- Have a good sense of humour and happy to work within a small team
- Hold integrity and honesty in very high regard
- Want to progress within company management
Package:
- £30k per annum
- 25 days plus Banks holidays per annum
- AE Pension, Life Assurance
- Hours of work Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 4pm
